Day 1:
Today, the adventure begins. Travellers will be picked up from their hotel in Pokhara and we’ll hop on a bus heading towards the picturesque mountain village of Ghandruk (1950 m). It’s the perfect spot to kick off the trek with a big brunch. After a traditional Gurung dish (the local specialty), we’ll hit the trail on foot towards Tadapani (2590 m), where we’ll set up camp for our first night in the mountains.
Day 2:
Today it’s time to dive into the forests. We’ll wander through a stunning, fairytale-like landscape, with hidden waterfalls and jaw-dropping mountain views around every corner. We’ll stop for lunch at a cosy teahouse in Isharu before pushing on to Dobato (3350 m). Get ready for your first proper 'wow' moment... The unbelievable sight of the massive Dhaulagiri towering 8,167m into the sky.
Day 3:
It’s an early start today, but it’s 100% worth it. We’ll hike for about 45 minutes up to Muldai Peak, where we’ll catch a 360-degree view of the Himalayas just as the sun rises. Absolute goosebumps moment. After a big brekkie back in Dobato, we’ll continue the trek to Khopra Danda (3660 m), a tough climb, but the reward at the top is definitely worth it!
Day 4:
Today’s the big one! We’re heading up to Khayer Lake (4660 m), the highlight of the whole trek. We’ll set off early to give ourselves plenty of time to acclimatise, because the air gets a lot thinner up here. Khayer Lake is a sacred place, and you’ll feel the unreal atmosphere the moment you arrive. After soaking it all in, we’ll head back to magical Khopra Danda for another night.
Day 5:
Time to start the descent. Don’t be fooled, it’s still a solid workout with plenty of steps coming your way. We’ll take it slow, with lots of breaks along the way. The reward? A night at the cosy Lareni Pun Teahouse, run by a local Nepalese family who’ll make you feel right at home. The food there is absolutely brilliant. It’s a hidden gem, far away from the crowds.
Day 6:
From Lareni Pun, it’s only a few more hours of downhill hiking. Along the way, we’ll pass through the charming village of Paudwar, where it feels like time has stood still. They make their own cheese here, so if you’re a cheese lover, you’re in for a treat. The trek finishes up in Tatopani, where we jump back on the bus and cruise back to Pokhara.
