Day 1: Cycle to Bish Hajari Taal
Kick off your trip with a scenic bike ride through the stunning lowlands of Chitwan to Bish Hajari Taal (meaning “20,000 Lakes”) a peaceful wetland just 11 km from Sauraha. This area, part of Chitwan National Park’s buffer zone, is teeming with wildlife and perfect for spotting birds, rhinos, and possibly even crocodiles. Along the way, you’ll pass through local villages and lush landscapes. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake before cycling back to town as the sun begins to set.
Day 2: Jungle Safari on Foot
Rise early for a peaceful canoe ride along the Rapti River, offering a close-up view of the region’s aquatic wildlife. After the canoe trip, your adventure continues with a guided walking safari through Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s most famous wildlife reserve. Together with experienced local guides, you’ll trek through jungle, grasslands, and riverbanks in search of rhinos, monkeys, deer, sloth bears, and if you're lucky, even a Bengal tiger. The walk is immersive and educational, giving you an authentic insight into Nepal’s unique ecosystems.
Day 3: Elephant Rescue & Culture
Today you'll visit Stand Up 4 Elephants, a non-profit sanctuary that rescues elephants from the tourism and entertainment industries. You'll learn about ethical wildlife care and get an inside look at how rescued elephants are rehabilitated in a safe and respectful environment. In the afternoon, visit the local wildlife museum and head to a nearby Tharu village to experience the culture, hospitality, and traditional life of one of Nepal’s indigenous communities. It’s a meaningful way to connect with local people and understand the deep ties between nature and culture.
