General Information

This project in Morocco is all about language learning with a creative twist. You’ll help children, teens, or adults learn a new language (and maybe pick up a few Arabic words yourself - shukran!). From tutoring and homework help to organising educational games, your efforts make learning fun and accessible for the local community.

You’ll work in community centres where your enthusiasm for learning is contagious and you won’t be on your own! Together with other international volunteers, you’ll create an inspiring and friendly atmosphere. Combine this with the hospitality of a local host family, colourful markets, and the magic of Morocco, and you have an experience you won’t forget. Whether you're a born teacher or just looking for an adventure with impact, this project has it all!

Tasks

As a volunteer in this language teaching project in Morocco, you'll play a key role in the education and personal development of children, teens, and adults. The goal is to provide the local community with access to affordable language courses and help them improve their language skills. Whether for school, work, or personal growth.

What will you do?
The tasks are varied and tailored to the needs of the community centre where you’re working. Some examples include:

  • Giving intensive language lessons: Help students learn English, French, or another language, depending on your skills and the centre's needs.
  • Tutoring for school exams: Prepare students for their tests and exams by providing extra explanations and practicing together.
  • Homework support: Assist students with their daily schoolwork to help them build confidence in their learning process.
  • Organising educational games and activities: Make learning fun! From language games to interactive activities. Anything to make learning more playful and accessible.
  • Collaborating with other volunteers: You’ll often work with another international volunteer to prepare and deliver lessons. Brainstorming, planning, and teaching creatively makes the work extra fun and effective.

Example of a workday:

  • 8:00 AM: Start the day with a delicious breakfast at your host family’s home.
  • 8:30 AM: Head to the project! Meet the staff and discuss the day's schedule.
  • 9:00 AM: Morning session begins. This could involve teaching, tutoring, or organising games.
  • 12:30 PM: Lunchtime and a moment to relax.
  • 2:00 PM: Afternoon session with new activities or lessons.
  • 4:00 PM: Your workday ends! Time to explore the city, experience the local culture, or simply unwind.
  • 8:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional meal and share your day’s experiences.

With a varied schedule, engaging conversations, and the chance to make a real impact, this volunteer work in Morocco is an experience you won't forget.
